We have been passionately making organic chocolate for fifteen years, being the first chocolate manufacturer to be registered in the UK by the Soil Association. We source most of our Organic and Fairtrade cocoa from farming co-operative in the Dominican Republic, and unlike so many brands nowadays, we actually make our own chocolate in our factory, which never uses dairy/animal, wheat/gluten or nuts.
Plamil has been ranked highest in the all of the chocolate ratings in the Ethical Consumer magazine since 2006. We remain to our knowledge the only chocolate factory to be powered by 100% renewable energy.

Dairy free ‘milky’ chocolate - Leading the way again with new products - we were the first to make chocolate using rice milk producing our award winning dairy free alternative to milk chocolate. Used by us and other brands to launch into the supermarkets, its fantastic taste has made this chocolate become the industry benchmark chocolate.
Plamil again leads the way in using this chocolate, not only for bars and seasonal product but now we introduce fantastic hearts and bear shapes in striking and fun design re-sealable pouches. These are not only fun and gift shapes but also help to reduce and control portion size.
Coconut blossom chocolate - We are very proud to be the first UK producer to use Organic coconut blossom sugar to produce Organic Fairtrade chocolate bars in 35g and 100g size bars. This high cocoa content chocolate is superbly balanced with a pure ‘creamy’ flavour producing the most pleasurable chocolate experience without added refined cane sugar. There are many now looking for alternatives to cane sugar, but with current organic regulations it is not possible to produce an ethical sourced organic chocolate with no added sugar, so for an ethical no added sugar chocolate we use UTZ certified cocoa.
Organic and Fairtrade
Our superbly made 87% cocoa dark chocolate allows the enjoyment of fine aromas and taste intenseness of cocoa to shine through and our 87% chocolate is a leading example that dark chocolate does not have to be bitter to get that strong cocoa experience.
Both our Luxury and coconut blossom sweetened chocolates are Organic and Fairtrade 72% cocoa making them family favourites. The balance of sweetness and cocoa taste when using both organic cane or coconut blossom sugar produces the wonderful acclaimed classic chocolate tastes.
At Plamil we lovingly produce a range of organic chocolates with different cocoa formulas to best complement each specific flavour. We complement the cocoa intenseness with flavours to match, producing shelf favourites including mint, orange, ginger and our hot cayenne pepper chocolate. [Whilst respecting other brands, most do not actually make their own chocolate, they simply purchase a standard formula - often from a producer where the majority of products made are neither organic or fairtrade. They then tend to use the same base chocolate and add flavours.]
Dairy free alternative to milk and white chocolates
Whilst typical comments include 'All the dairy milk chocolate taste without the dairy milk', we highlight ‘Dairy free’ in the descriptions when commonly the variety of chocolate would most likely be known to contain milk.
So you can enjoy our dairy free ‘milky’ chocolate and the scrumptious white chocolate with added Madagascan vanilla with all the knowledge it has been made to the highest free from standards.

Our organic chocolate flakes are just exceptional. Use the traditional method of combining chocolate with your favourite milk, such as Plamil Organic Soya to make real hot chocolate drink.
Available in catering and five flavours, including fresh mint, natural orange, exotic ginger and fiery chilli. Fantastic for topping or sprinkling – ideal for decorating truffles, pralines, cakes, desserts, rolls etc.
Vegan and No nut
All our products are made to the highest Vegan standards, and carry our Registered Vegan trademark. [Other Vegan trademarks do not necessarily guarantee products are free from Dairy]. In addition products are gluten free and made to the highest No nut standards.
