Expressions No Added Sugar Chocolate
Making wonderful tasting no added sugar chocolate is our passion. Commonly known as sugar free chocolate, there are of course small amounts of naturally occurring sugars in cocoa.
Our Expressions no added sugar chocolate uses cocoa certified sustainable and better for farmers by UTZ, and sweetened with Xylitol made in Finland.
We were the first Sugarwise Chocolate, with all our no added sugar range being low free sugar chocolate and Sugarwise certified.
Plamil chocolate has been judged by Ethical Consumer magazine as the most ethically produced in the UK. In additon our no added sugar chocolates have won Organic and Natural Trade, Health and Pharmacy business awards.
Our no added sugar chocolate range contains a whole variety of family and snack bars, from 72% cocoa chocolates, coffee, fresh mint, exotic orange, banana, strawberry to delicious dairy free 'milky'.
At Plamil we lead the way in using no added sugar chocolate. As well as our wonderful seasonal products, we introduced fantastic hearts and bear shapes. In striking and fun designs, these re-sealable pouches can be purchased all year round.
Our no added sugar chocolate flakes are just exceptional. Use the traditional method of combining chocolate flakes with your favourite milk, such as Plamil Organic Soya to make real hot chocolate drink. Fantastic for topping or sprinkling – ideal for decorating truffles, pralines, cakes, desserts, rolls etc.

Sugarwise is the only mark certifying foods that derive no more than 5% of their energy from free sugars – 'simple' sugars that are broken down quickly by the body, are accompanied by little fibre and other nutrients and can wreak havoc on our health. Plamil's Expressions Sugarwise Chocolate has a mere 1.5g of natural sugars in its 100g bar.

With many news stories about the need to reduce our sugar intake, Plamil is proud to be at the forefront of producing tasty chocolate without adding sugar, a departure from 'diabetic' chocolate which many remember to have a chemical taste.
Xylitol is made from the sap of birch trees (xylan). Xylitol has the same degree of sweetness as sucrose but has 40% less calories and a GI value of 7. Unlike other sweeteners Xylitol is an important supplement in the prevention of dental problems and is well known by diabetics. Our chocolate contains small quantities of naturally occurring sugars so we do not describe them as sugar free chocolates.
